Meet the Team

  • Family

    The Parents & Siblings

Barnie is greatly supported by his family and his siblings, which he is truly grateful for.

Mum (Naomi) is “chief motivator, secretary, chef, driver and groom.” (Barnie’s words)

Dad (Wayne) works extremely hard in his plumbing business to help build the family home and business, whilst also working on the farm.

The siblings support and keep Barnie’s feet firmly on the ground.

  • Grandparents

    Maw Maw and Pops

Naomi’s parents are extremely supportive in every way, with many wise words, lots of love, advice and help out on the farm, educating us all with their knowledge and making Little Mocho a conservation haven. Planting wildflower and native trees to encourage the British wildlife.

  • Beau

Sister, rider & International top groom

Beau is Barnies younger sister, and they work together very well… most of the time!

Beau is a beautiful, sympathetic quiet rider with a natural feel, and schools many of the horses, as well as taking her own youngsters down the dressage route. She is also extremely organised and makes an excellent International top groom!

  • Karen Nicholas Eacock

Karen has trained Barnie and Beau for many years, and quite frankly deserves a medal!

She is Barnies mentor and expert eyes on the ground at home and at competitions. Karen understands each horses needs and has great empathy on how to bring out the best in both horse and rider. As a coach she always advises who to go to when necessary for the finishing touches… but we feel that’s Karen!

  • Caroline Moore

Caroline has been coaching Barnie since he was 16, through the U18’s and her own demos, which have proved invaluable.

Barnie truly appreciates the knowledge, training, guidance and time that Caroline has gifted over the years, and most recently all the help and support with setting up a business and bringing on the next generation of eventers with the Performance Mentoring Programme (PMP).

  • Jim Slimmings

Not only for treating the horses all year round, alongside working with the other team members and professionals, but her knowledge and straight talking attitude keeps us all in line!

It bodes well to lock your food cupboard though when she pays a visit!

  • Emma Phillips

    Chiropractor

Emma has been treating the horses for many years and knows her onions!

She is extremely knowledgeable making sure the horses are comfortable, able to work properly and advising Barnie on any exercises that are needed. Emma is a truly valued member of the team.

  • Spike Milligan

    Performance Horse Consultant

Spike has been working with Barnies horses for a while and was also the European team vet in Montelibretti, Italy. He works extremely well with the rest of the crew on the yard, sharing his worldly knowledge and has a great team ethic. Barnie truly appreciates all of Spikes experience and advice, but also hopes the horses don’t have to see him too often!

  • Max

    Saddler at Mon Sellier Ltd

Max is the newest member of the team and we wish we’d found him sooner! He totally understands what both horse and rider need.

Since Barnie and his horses have been riding in their Renaissance saddles, they have been given the freedom to develop correctly and perform to their very best.

    Thank you Max!

  • Alan Nolan

    Nutritionist

Alan is business manager for GAIN Equine Nutrition and he is Barnies go to for any dietary requirements and performance advice.

The horses obviously have their own individual needs and Alan is always spot on with his guidance.

The horses always look in fabulous condition on GAIN feeds.

  • Steve Welsh

    Equine Dental Technician

Steve has been the ponies and horses dentist for many years and is a mine of information.

Coming from The Household Cavalry, he is a true horseman and we always learn from his visits.

  • “For the rider… 10% is talent, the rest is mindset. Managing character is key and developing empathy with our horse.”
